In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Whisper of Trees: Tutcheria; Whisper of Trees: Osmanthus Fragrans by Chu Chu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,401.98), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chu Chu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Equality of Things-Fruit-Clementine, which sold at auction in July 2020 for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,064.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Whisper of Trees: Tutcheria; Whisper of Trees: Osmanthus Fragrans von Chu Chu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.401,98) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chu Chu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit On the Equality of Things-Fruit-Clementine beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.064,97) versteigert wurde.
