In May 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work The Ruins Of Fort Macandrew (Aka Argentia Naval Station) by Christopher Pratt. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 42,000.00 (€ 32,821.42), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christopher Pratt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Door, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 140,500.00 (€ 100,879.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ruins Of Fort Macandrew (Aka Argentia Naval Station) von Christopher Pratt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CAD 42.000,00 (€ 32.821,42) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Christopher Pratt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French Door beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 140.500,00 (€ 100.879,31) versteigert wurde.
