Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work It's much worse than you think by Christopher Chiappa was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 174.36). Admittedly, works by Christopher Chiappa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Van Gogh in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,320.00 (€ 1,094.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit It's much worse than you think von Christopher Chiappa im Juli 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 174,36) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Chiappa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Van Gogh im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.320,00 (€ 1.094,71).
