Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Christoph Schmidberger could be acquired at Phillips in New York in March 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Under the Influence auction, the work Three works: i) Geschlossene Gesellschaft, 2004; ii) Irene Andessner, 2002; iii) Once in a Lifetime, 2004 changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,813.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christoph Schmidberger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Suddenly I Felt Better Than Ever in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 61,000.00 (€ 38,595.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Christoph Schmidberger konnte im März 2011 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Under the Influence wechselte die Arbeit Three works: i) Geschlossene Gesellschaft, 2004; ii) Irene Andessner, 2002; iii) Once in a Lifetime, 2004 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.813,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christoph Schmidberger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Suddenly I Felt Better Than Ever im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.000,00 (€ 38.595,38).
