Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Wrapped Reichstag (Project For Berlin) by Christo was sold in the POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART DAY SALE auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 96,000.00 (€ 142,278.06), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Wrapped Reichstag (Project For Berlin) von Christo wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART DAY SALE bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 96.000,00 (€ 142.278,06) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
