Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work The interior of a cathedral by Christian Stöcklin for USD 11,950.00 (€ 11,127.67). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christian Stöcklin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Imaginary Church Interior With Figures, which sold at auction in June 2013 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,745.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
