The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,639.99) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christian Stöcklin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Imaginary Church Interior With Figures in June 2013 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,745.58).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit An architectural capriccio of classical ruins with travellers; and An architectural capriccio of classical ruins with figures in Oriental costumes conversing in the foreground von Christian Stöcklin wurde im Dezember 2010 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.639,99) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christian Stöcklin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Imaginary Church Interior With Figures im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 30.745,58).
