Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2004 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A Church Interior With Elegant Company by Christian Stöcklin. The price achieved of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 3,220.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christian Stöcklin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Imaginary Church Interior With Figures in June 2013 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,745.58).
