Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Latvian coastal craft and a paddle steamer in the Bay of Riga, with a fortified island beyond by Christian Frederic Eckardt was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in New York in February 2004. The price achieved of USD 7,767.50 (€ 6,243.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Frederic Eckardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danish Morning In The Bay Of Corfu in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,500.00 (€ 84,715.65).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.767,50 (€ 6.243,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden.
