Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Personnages by Christian Bérard was auctioned at Christies in June 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 1,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,739.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Bérard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suite de quatre toiles montées en paravent pour "La Jeune Fille endormie" in April this year with an auction result of EUR 119,700.00.
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Personnages von Christian Bérard im Juni 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 1.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.739,45) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Bérard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suite de quatre toiles montées en paravent pour "La Jeune Fille endormie" im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 119.700,00.
