This artwork by Christian Bérard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June this year. In the The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection auction, the work Petit chien (recto); Étude de chat (verso) sold for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,346.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Bérard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suite de quatre toiles montées en paravent pour "La Jeune Fille endormie" in April this year with an auction result of EUR 119,700.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Christian Bérard erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection wurde die Arbeit Petit chien (recto); Étude de chat (verso) für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.346,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Bérard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suite de quatre toiles montées en paravent pour "La Jeune Fille endormie" im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 119.700,00.
