Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2020 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art: Amsterdam, which included the work Lightness Of Being by Chris Levine. The result of EUR 60,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Levine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lightness Of Being, 2004, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 222,659.48).
