Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Santhal Dance by Chittaprosad Bhattacharya was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,320.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chittaprosad Bhattacharya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,601.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Santhal Dance von Chittaprosad Bhattacharya kam im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.320,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chittaprosad Bhattacharya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 25.601,64).
