Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Spanish Ledges by Childe Hassam for USD 170,000.00 (€ 158,419.53). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Childe Hassam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 12,328,500.00 (€ 10,110,300.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Spanish Ledges von Childe Hassam für USD 170.000,00 (€ 158.419,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Childe Hassam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.328.500,00 (€ 10.110.300,15).
