A top price for Childe Hassam - as previously expected
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 by Childe Hassam. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,328,500.00 (€ 10,110,300.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 is the most expensive artwork by Childe Hassam that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 von Childe Hassam zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.328.500,00 (€ 10.110.300,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Flags On 57Th Street, Winter 1918 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Childe Hassam, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
