Auction result well in line with expectations
The work four oban triptychs by Toyohara Chikanobu was sold in the AT HOME - JAPANESE CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 759.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Toyohara Chikanobu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes of beauties and farm life in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,763.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit four oban triptychs von Toyohara Chikanobu wurde im Juni 2003 in der Auktion AT HOME - JAPANESE CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 759,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toyohara Chikanobu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scenes of beauties and farm life im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.763,12).
