Last leaf signed: Songyuan Daoren Sui, and dated third month, gengwu year (1630)
Each leaf with one seal of the artist: Meng Yang, Cheng Sui, or Cheng Jia Sui Yin
Dedicated to Master Zhongsheng
Each leaf with one collector's seal: Ding Cheng Shou Zhen Shang

Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Landscapes by Cheng Jiasui. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000 - 50,000, the actual price achieved of HKD 41,825 (€ 4,637) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheng Jiasui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 3,380,000 (€ 293,735).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscapes von Cheng Jiasui zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000 – 50.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 41.825 (€ 4.637) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheng Jiasui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.380.000 (€ 293.735).
