Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-character Poem in Cursive Script by Chen Xianzhang was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 35,507.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Xianzhang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,194.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Cursive Script von Chen Xianzhang wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 35.507,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Xianzhang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.440.000,00 (€ 282.194,73).
