In May 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Five-character Poem in Cursive Script by Chen Xianzhang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 45,575.87), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Xianzhang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,194.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five-character Poem in Cursive Script von Chen Xianzhang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 45.575,87) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Xianzhang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.440.000,00 (€ 282.194,73).
