Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lady Under Plum Tree by Chen Shaomei was sold in the Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in August 2021. The price achieved of HKD 38,250.00 (€ 4,165.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shaomei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portraits Of Great Poets in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,160,000.00 (€ 293,900.50).

Die Arbeit Lady Under Plum Tree von Chen Shaomei wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 38.250,00 (€ 4.165,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Shaomei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portraits Of Great Poets im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.160.000,00 (€ 293.900,50).
