Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Chen Li was sold in the Fine Modern Chinese Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. It achieved a price of HKD 36,000.00 (€ 3,427.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Li achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Float to Sukhavati in April 2014 with an auction result of CNY 2,190,000.00 (€ 252,631.58).
