A top price for Chen Keng - as previously expected
In November 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Towing Out to Sea I by Chen Keng. The price achieved of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,295.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Towing Out to Sea I is the most expensive artwork by Chen Keng that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2013 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Towing Out to Sea I von Chen Keng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.295,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Towing Out to Sea I das teuerste Kunstwerk von Chen Keng, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
