Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Departure by Chen Keng was sold in the 20th Century Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 7,604.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Chen Keng have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2013 the work Towing Out to Sea I was auctioned for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,295.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Departure von Chen Keng wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 7.604,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Chen Keng konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2013 die Arbeit Towing Out to Sea I für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.295,97) versteigert.
