A top price for Chen Banding
When the work Sceneries Of Mount Huang by Chen Banding was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 350,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 2,300,000.00 (€ 270,662.29). This high result makes Sceneries Of Mount Huang the most expensive artwork by Chen Banding that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Chen Banding
Als die Arbeit Sceneries Of Mount Huang von Chen Banding im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 350.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.300.000,00 (€ 270.662,29) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Sceneries Of Mount Huang zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Chen Banding, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
