Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work The Bend In The Path by Chauncey Foster Ryder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,729.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chauncey Foster Ryder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gateway To North Carolina, which sold at auction in March 2006 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,816.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bend In The Path von Chauncey Foster Ryder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.729,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chauncey Foster Ryder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gateway To North Carolina beobachtet, die im März 2006 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 15.816,79) versteigert wurde.
