Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charlie Dye could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II auction, the work At the Waterhole changed hands for USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,077.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charlie Dye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work First One in Town in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 76,896.04).
