In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Portrait of a young girl in a forest by Charles Sillem Lidderdale. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,321.99), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Sillem Lidderdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young girl carrying partridges in December 2001 with an auction result of GBP 24,675.00 (€ 40,315.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl in a forest von Charles Sillem Lidderdale zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.321,99) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Sillem Lidderdale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A young girl carrying partridges im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.675,00 (€ 40.315,53).
