Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The New Puppy by Charles Sillem Lidderdale was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,645.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sillem Lidderdale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young girl carrying partridges in December 2001 with an auction result of GBP 24,675.00 (€ 40,315.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The New Puppy von Charles Sillem Lidderdale im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.645,96) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Sillem Lidderdale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A young girl carrying partridges im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.675,00 (€ 40.315,53).
