Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For 'Bucks County Barn' by Charles Sheeler was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,760.00 (€ 27,956.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sheeler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Sentinels in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).

Die Arbeit Study For 'Bucks County Barn' von Charles Sheeler kam im September 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 27.956,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Sentinels im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.232.500,00 (€ 1.913.024,85).
