Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kitchen of Governor's Palace, Williamsburg, Va. by Charles Sheeler was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 315,000.00 (€ 257,563.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Sheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Sentinels in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kitchen of Governor's Palace, Williamsburg, Va. von Charles Sheeler kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 315.000,00 (€ 257.563,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Sentinels im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.232.500,00 (€ 1.913.024,85).
