Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dutch The Duke Of Alba'S Entry Into Amsterdam by Charles Rochussen was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2008. The price achieved of EUR 5,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Rochussen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stadholder William III inspecting the troups at Hinderschans, which sold at auction in April 2003 for EUR 10,755.00.
