In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Highland by day; and Highland by night by Charles Robert Leslie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,918.09), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Robert Leslie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sancho Panza in the Apartment of the Duchess in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,935.95).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Highland by day; and Highland by night von Charles Robert Leslie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.918,09) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Robert Leslie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sancho Panza in the Apartment of the Duchess im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.340,00 (€ 20.935,95).
