Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901), Three-Quarter-Length, In A Garden by Charles Robert Leslie for GBP 275.00 (€ 350.59). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robert Leslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sancho Panza in the Apartment of the Duchess in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,935.95).
