Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bounding Deer by Charles Prendergast was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 47,267.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Prendergast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fantasy in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 704,075.00 (€ 631,514.04).

Die Arbeit Bounding Deer von Charles Prendergast wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 47.267,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Prendergast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fantasy im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 704.075,00 (€ 631.514,04).
