Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Sunrise at the inlet of River Brathay, Lake Windermere by Charles Pettitt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,081.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Pettitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The river ferry in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,525.98).
