In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Winter Landscape, Galloway by Charles Oppenheimer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,319.60), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Oppenheimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Piazzetta Venice in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Landscape, Galloway von Charles Oppenheimer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.170,00 (€ 10.319,60) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Oppenheimer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Piazzetta Venice im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 56.962,85).
