Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work The high Loch on Ben Ledi, Perthshire by Charles Leslie. The price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,480.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Leslie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures resting by a lake with cattle watering in a mountainous landscape, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,070.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The high Loch on Ben Ledi, Perthshire von Charles Leslie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.480,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Leslie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures resting by a lake with cattle watering in a mountainous landscape beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.070,79) versteigert wurde.
