This artwork by Charles Leslie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work On the river Eden, Cumberland sold for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,838.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Leslie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures resting by a lake with cattle watering in a mountainous landscape, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,070.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Leslie erzielte im März 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit On the river Eden, Cumberland für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.838,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Leslie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures resting by a lake with cattle watering in a mountainous landscape beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.070,79) versteigert wurde.
