Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,219.85). Admittedly, works by Charles Jones, R.C.A. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep resting on a tree-lined path in March 2012 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,985.19).

Die Arbeit The monarch of the glen von Charles Jones, R.C.A. wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.219,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Jones, R.C.A. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep resting on a tree-lined path im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.985,19).
