Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American The Goat Herder, El Kantara by Charles James Theriat was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 12,043.94) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles James Theriat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work American Playing The Derbakeh, Biskra, which sold at auction in March 2009 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55).
