A top price for Charles James Theriat - as previously expected
In March 2009 Sothebys in Doha held the auction A Collection of Orientalist Art, which included the work American Playing The Derbakeh, Biskra by Charles James Theriat. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, American Playing The Derbakeh, Biskra is the most expensive artwork by Charles James Theriat that we have observed at auctions so far.
