Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Along the coast, Torr Head, County Antrim by Charles Mcauley was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2007. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,138.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Mcauley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Long Road Home, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,013.33).
