Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work View Along The Coast by Charles Mcauley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,248.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Mcauley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Long Road Home in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,013.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Along The Coast von Charles Mcauley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.248,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Mcauley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Long Road Home im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 8.013,33).
