The price achieved of GBP 776.75 (€ 1,149.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Mcauley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Long Road Home in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,013.33).
