Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Bonhams held the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Studio Interior by Charles Herbert Woodbury. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,697.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Herbert Woodbury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Splashing in the Surf in June 2002 with an auction result of USD 47,800.00 (€ 48,498.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion American Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Studio Interior von Charles Herbert Woodbury zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.697,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Herbert Woodbury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Splashing in the Surf im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.800,00 (€ 48.498,38).
