Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fisherfolk tending to their boats, sunset by Charles Leickert was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The price achieved of GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,334.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Leickert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At the 'koek en zopie' in a panoramic winter landscape in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 132,250.00.
