Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Farmhouse in a Landscape by Charles Harry Eaton was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,858.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Harry Eaton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Brook, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,975.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Farmhouse in a Landscape von Charles Harry Eaton im September 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.858,87) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Harry Eaton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Brook beobachtet, die im September 2005 für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.975,95) versteigert wurde.
