Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homme à la veste bleue de profil à gauche by Charles Guillaume Alexandre Bourgeois was sold in the Portrait Miniatures auction at Artcurial in June this year. The price achieved of EUR 1,312.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Guillaume Alexandre Bourgeois have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young gentleman and lady in profile to left, dark background; he in blue coat with yellow waistcoat and cravat, forward-combed brown hair and sideburns; and she in white dress, pearl-set gold comb in her plaited upswept hair in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18
