Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A gentleman in profile to left, in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, hair en queue; blue background by Charles Guillaume Alexandre Bourgeois was sold in the IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 729.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Guillaume Alexandre Bourgeois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young gentleman and lady in profile to left, dark background; he in blue coat with yellow waistcoat and cravat, forward-combed brown hair and sideburns; and she in white dress, pearl-set gold comb in her plaited upswept hair in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.1
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A young gentleman and lady in profile to left, dark background; he in blue coat with yellow waistcoat and cravat, forward-combed brown hair and sideburns; and she in white dress, pearl-set gold comb in her plaited upswept hair im November 200
