In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work A Dutch merchantman passing the Needles by Charles Gregory. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,238.14), 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Gregory - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Royal Yacht Squadron's Viking at anchor off Cowes; The Royal Yacht Squadron's Viking off the Needles, a pair, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 16,312.00 (€ 18,464.21).

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Dutch merchantman passing the Needles von Charles Gregory zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.238,14) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Gregory mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Royal Yacht Squadron's Viking at anchor off Cowes; The Royal Yacht Squadron's Viking off the Needles, a pair beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 16.312,00 (€ 18.464,21) versteigert wurde.
